Meet Bellevue Oral Surgeon, Dr. Trippel
Dr. Douglas Trippel graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1980. His post-graduate training began at the University of North Carolina where he completed a two-year hospital dental residency in 1982. This residency dealt with providing dental care for medically compromised and hospitalized patients. From 1982-1983 he completed an anesthesia fellowship also at the University of North Carolina. He then returned to the University of Washington where he completed his four-year residency in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery in 1987. His training at the University of Washington included a nine-month rotation in the Netherlands where he learned European Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical Techniques.
Dr. Trippel has been practicing Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Bellevue, Washington since 1988. He became a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1989 and he is currently a part-time Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Washington. Dr. Trippel has privileges at Overlake and Swedish Medical Centers where he performs many of his reconstructive procedures.
He lives on Mercer Island with his wife Nancy and two children Christopher and Sheehan. A few of his many interests outside of oral surgery are skiing, tennis and kayaking.
